What are Stillages?
Stillages are steel pallets or skids which carries and offers support for the material they are intended to store of carry – for instance, extruded aluminum in the case of Profile Stillages.
Krost’s stillages are like pallets or skids but with a cage, sides, or some form of support specifically tailored to the material it is intended to carry. Stillages are mainly used to transport goods without the need to load and unload the product being carried, which saves time and decreases the chance of damage. Another common use for stillages is as bins.
Common Uses Of Stillages.
A good example of this is the glass industry, where A-frame stillages are often used to support sheets of glass for transport. The glass is strapped to the A-frame, which leans inward, and can then be transported with less likelihood of the sheets breaking or being cracked
